James Baldwin is one of the most important voices in American history. As a catalyst during the Civil Rights Movement, he gained notoriety for his essays, novels, plays, and poems. His advocacy for human equality also made him an icon amongst several demographics, especially for the Black and LGBTQIA+ communities.
