My Santa Claus Is Black

I’ve ridden and walked by a neighborhood thrift store for two years. I always told myself I’d stop by, but urgency, tiredness, or their hours of operation have kept my car tut-tutting past the building. That is, until one autumn afternoon. I walked in with no purpose, running my finger along the spines of $1 cookbooks and children’s stories.
